Familia y amigos-
I hope everyone had a good week! This week just flew by! But I
am so
happy it's November, October was a long month. Ok let's see if I can remember...
We had exchanges! (Exchanges
are when the missionaries exchange companions for a day)I stayed in
my area and Sister Iaboo went to Sunland.
I was with Sister Janes for the day. I was a little intimidated because
I had to figure our plan out for the day on my own, and we didn't have set
appointments but we made it work! I purposefully put down our Spanish
investigators we had while I was with her because Sister Janes just got
transferred out of Spanish work and she misses it. So we visited Refugio so
that we could fully understand why she didn't want to be baptized. She said it
was because her son is a
minister and taking classes at APU (Azusah Pacific University-
which
is a really great ministerial college, but they don't enjoy
Mormons too much if you know what I mean) so he told her that we could still
come over (which was nice) but he doesn't want her to commit to anything. And
we got cupcakes and played with Refugio's new puppy.
Thursday was tough. We had 4 lessons secluded after district
meeting and all of them canceled. We hardly ever have time for four lessons because
of how long it takes to travel in LA and so we had it all figured out till the
last minute, but it didn't matter :/ so ya we were pretty beat by the end of
the day. But I called a lady- Maria-who we met at the trunk or treat, who we
were supposed to meet with on Tuesday, but her phone got disconnected and it
still was when we called, but I felt like we should just stop by her house. We
did and she was there! And she let us in hoping that we would come over so that
she could talk with us. She had taken the missionary lessons 3 years ago and
told us that she wasn't ready to commit to anything back then because of the
way her life was but that now she is ready and that she wants to be baptized!
Ah!! Yeah! First time someone has asked to be baptized instead of accepting the
invitation! I'm so happy for her, and she knows how important baptism is and
she said she has even gone to church and seen a difference by just doing that.
I can't wait for her to experience the amount of blessings she will receive
when she is baptized!
So ya things are pretty good! Halloween was well... Pretty much
normal
missionary day, except people in LA like to wear masks and skull
makeup during the day time which is unsettling, especially if
you're
trying to contact them.... Hahaha that was good fun.
Love much,
Sister Plumb
