Scriptures

"And this is not all. Do ye not suppose that I know of these things for myself? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety? 46. Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God... 48. I say unto you, that whatsoever I shall say unto you, concerning that which is to come, is true; and I say unto you, that I know that Jesus Christ shall come, yea, the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, and mercy, and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth on his name. 49. And now I say unto you that this is the order after which I am called, yea, to preach unto my beloved brethren."
-Alma 5:45-46,48-49
"Come unto Christ and be perfected in him and deny yourselves of all ungodliness."

Glendora 格伦多拉

Hello!
And to those of you I just added to my weekly email- welcome! If you
get tired of my emails feel free to spam me or tell me you don't want
my emails, but actually that would be really sad. Don't do that.
Anyways! This last Saturday I got the call. The call to be transferred
out of Huntington to Glendora 1 Ward! Woah. Was not expecting that
one! Sister Gong and I thought I was going to finish up her mission
with her, but instead it looks like I'll be finishing up with her last
companion from Chinese work Sister Xia! Oh my goodness. Sister Xia is
so amazing. She is adorable and such a good missionary, I'm so excited
that I get to keep working on my Chinese! I've been hearing good
things about Glendora... People say it's like a mini Utah down here
and there's a to die for donut shop. So I'll check it out and let
y'all know!
I was sad to leave Huntington especially because a miracle happened
AGAIN this Sunday. First- Justin who we met a couple weeks ago called
us up and said that he wants to meet with us. So first we explained
all about our church and he was like ya that sounds good I want to
come to church! So he came and loved it! He is going to be going to
the Glendale young singles adult Ward though so that will be good for
him. Second- a random guy named Kevin walked into church yesterday
saying that he wanted to learn English and about Jesus Christ, and we
were like PERFECT we do both those things! So that was pretty amazing.
I know I've said this like a million times in this email but it really
was sad to leave Huntington, especially saying good bye to the members
there. They are so sweet and they love helping out the missionaries,
and doing missionary work. We wouldn't get done a lot of what we did
with out them.
I want you all to know that even though changes come into our lives
that are unexpected and a little nerve racking, they are good. Yes
change is good, because sometimes (and the Lord knows) we all need a
little change or a lot of change for the good. Even if the change is
bad it is good because it refines us into a better person and that is
what this life is all about. Continuance and progression. Keep trying.
Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Keep keepin on. You can
do it. I know you can. The Lord knows you can.

Love you all :)

This little cutie pie took my glasses and tag.

This is my "Grandma" while I was serving in Huntington, Pasadena area.  She would drive us to the store and buy us lunch a lot.  The best lady!

Miracles 奇迹

The miracle is that Regan came to church! Yes! Finally. The
interesting part was that it was a special stake conference for us
because our stake presidency was being released, but she still wanted
to come! She insisted on coming actually. She knew she needed to go
for a while, and in the end she said she was really glad she went.

The other miracle is Jonathan. He is practically a member, he's been
going to church since he was six, but his mom will not let him get
baptized. So he's turning 18 in August and he will be baptized in that
same week! I hope Sister Gong and I stay, well Sister Gong will go
home right before he turns 18 but hopefully she will stay long enough
to teach him. He has been waiting to be baptized for so long now. He
said that once he is baptized it will be the most freeing experience
that he will have. And it's true. For people who aren't in Jonathan's
position too, baptism is literally freeing you from all the pain,
regret and sorrow that we feel on this earth. It helps us see the good
in everything and everyone, we understand who we are, and why we are
here, and where we need to get to, and so much more! Though hardships
don't ever go away when we are baptized we receive added strength in
so many different ways to help us overcome each obstacle.

I'm so very grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who sent us a Savior, Jesus Christ to make this all possible for us. We can receive confidence and faith through the Saviors example to be free from the worries of life.
So ya, if you haven't been baptized I highly I recommend it. And I'm
not just saying that because I'm a missionary, I'm saying that on my
experience and through the experiences of others.
Love y'all! Have a great week!

Love,

Fast 快速

Hello everyone!
Well I had an email all typed up but then it got deleted. It's been 9
months and I still don't know how to work this iPad thing. I don't
know who gave this to me.

Anyways this is called fast for two reasons. One is obvious. Fast
Sunday. LOVE fast Sunday's. Only 6 left of the year... And the second
is because this week went by super fast.

So cool miracle that happened this week is that I contacted a cute
little Chinese lady in the Chinese that I knew! We were on exchanges
so sister gong was not with me. And I gave her our free english class
flier got her number and biked away and she has come with her friend
for our past three English classes! So that was really cool! She
speaks no English what so ever.

We picked up a few new investigators this week and are referring Regan
to a singles ward and will be working with part member families.
Congrats to my cousin Terryn and my new cousin Jacob for graduating
from the air force and getting married in the same week. You two are
an inspiration.

I love you all so much! Thank you for your love and support!! I wish
you all a great week :)

Memory of Grandma Plumb

My first memory of grandma reminds me of what a patient and loving person she was. I was about 3 or 4. My parents had been out of town on vacation to Florida and grandpa was babysitting Calvin and I. I remember we got out a board game to play, because we all know that grandma loves games. I wanted to play the game a different way which was not according to the rules and being the youngin that I was at the time, I threw a fit when Calvin and Grandma didn't want to play that way. I ran to my room and started drawing a picture of my parents and us welcoming them home with a huge cake. I remember her coming in and asking me if I was ok and if I wanted to come back down and play with her and Calvin. I don't think I came down right away but when I did she was making brownies. Even though I was being unreasonable she still loved me and wanted me to be happy. Even though this story is so simple it shows to me her Christlike love and patience.
